There are many things we hold on to because they are familiar we know them so well, like our limited belief systems, our egos, even stress can be something we have become quite good friends with. But what do these things really do to our sense of freedom, creativity and our well-being? Well, in many ways we believe they keep us safe and secure. We don't like change, most times we resist it, but change always comes. The only thing that is constant, is change. We can allow changes to come and go with the flow, but most times we resist, fight it, complain and this causes so much "Dis-Ease" in our bodies and mind. We know intuitively that we must soar high above our fears, but we like the feeling of safety even if it means we are stifled and just existing.
At times it feels as if we are in a cocoon, inside it is safe and warm, but you can't see too much all wrapped up, even if it is safe and warm. You can't see the bigger picture, the vastness and beauty beyond the cocoon. Not much changes, no new input is getting through, your days and nights roll into each other, like a exact copy of the day before.
But one day you start to wonder what that world looks like, what exciting adventures lie just beyond your walls you have created, just the very thought starts to stir something deep within you. You even start having dreams about it. You awaken with joy in your heart to find you are still in the cocoon. Suddenly the cocoon no longer feels cozy and safe, but small and tight. You become restless. It is sometimes hard to breath as you feel it closing in. You wonder why you stay, what holds you back. Why you hold yourself back. Surely there must be something more.
At last you can take it no more, your desire to see beyond your current surroundings take hold, you notice some light coming through, you go towards it. You take a deep breath, still a little hesitant you look back at the cocoon, but the light directs you back. Your heart flutters with anticipation at what lies beyond, as more light pours in you adjust your eyes. You wonder what is causing the light to be so bright and a voice whispers, "You" Your confidence grows until the cocoon is completely gone, you are fully embraced by the light. The view is spectacular-you have never felt so free. You take another deep breath and smile. You have taken flight and viewing the world from a whole new perspective, the power was always there, just waiting for you to discover! You have set your fears free, you have gained wings of courage, courage to fly above circumstances and see them for that they are, you can now be anywhere, do anything. You are limitless and vast.
The colors are so vibrant, you have never seen so much color. The smell of the flowers is like a rich intoxicating aroma that makes you feel even more alive. Your senses seem to be overloaded with so much sensation. You wonder what ever took you long to taste the sweet nectar of life? Still, it happened and now this present moment was all that mattered.
