Fourth of July

One of my favorite ADC's after the passing of my husband was one that shocked many of us, including me.  It was a few weeks after his passing and my mom called me up and said that she heard Tom say, "Tell April to look for my face"  She said that was all he said.  I began to wonder if my grief was blocking him in someway, or maybe I would see his face somewhere.  A few weeks passed and she got another message, he said, "Look to the sky, Fourth of July"   Mom began to doubt herself, figuring she just thought of a rhyme, it was as if Tom knew what she was thinking, he said, "Just tell her"

When mom gave me this message, of course I thought about the holiday on the 4th of July.  I wondered   would I see his face then, possibly in a firework?  I had no clue, but since the 4th of July was a few months away, I exercised great patience and tried not to dwell on it too much.

About a week after the first message I had sent in a roll of film from our last family vacation together at Niagara Falls, we had such a good time and it was before Tom was real sick.  The day the pictures came in the mail I took a deep breath, wanting and not wanting to see them. I knew it would be sad.  As I was looking through the pictures I came upon some firework pictures I had taken over the falls one night, as I sat one picture to the side, I kept being drawn to it and I looked at it again and there right in the smoke of the firework was Tom's face!!  I was so excited that I started shaking, the message now made sense!!  I called my mom and drove over to her work on her lunch hour, she saw Tom's face right away and her jaw dropped.

Of course we were all so excited, I showed friend after friend and saw tears come to each of their eyes as they too, saw Tom's face.    I am so glad my mom had the courage to keep giving me messages, although she always worried as to how she was getting them.  Tom kept sending us the proof we needed to verify everything she was saying.
